OBC STUDENTS COMPETE AT NATIONAL COMPETITION
Sheffield Village, OH: Ohio Business College (OBC) students Montay Burks, Christy Adkins, and Amanda Collins recently traveled to Dallas, Texas to compete in a national competition sponsored by the Business Professionals of America (BPA). During the week of June 15-20, 2009, the three OBC representatives were among nearly 3,000 students from thirteen states competing in events related to their majors. Burks earned a medal in “Fundamental Accounting”, while Adkins earned a medal in “Human Resource Management.”

This was the first year that Ohio Business College participated in the event. Burks, Adkins and Collins placed at the BPA state level in February 2009 in order to qualify for the national competition.
Business Professionals of America is a National Organization for Secondary and Post Secondary Students. BPA provides students the opportunity to develop marketable skills while participating in business-related events. This opportunity was solely funded by fundraisers and area donations.
