Columbus, OH: On March 23, 2009, a new sign was erected at 1880 East Dublin-Granville Road to announce the arrival of Ohio Business College (OBC) to Columbus. The campus was formerly known as Ohio Institute of Health Careers (OIHC). Both OBC and OIHC are owned by Tri-State Educational Systems, Inc. in Middletown, Ohio.
Originally established in 1903 as Lorain Business College, OBC has been offering affordable, high-quality adult education at two other campuses in Sandusky and Sheffield Village, Ohio. According to Dennis Hirsh, President of Ohio Business College, “our organization is excited about bringing the OBC name and an array of quality business, legal and computer programs to Columbus to add to our already successful Medical and Dental Assisting Programs.”
Course offerings will include Associate Degrees in Applied Business in Legal Assistant, Business Administration, Medical Administrative Assistant and Information Technology Office Support. Diploma programs will continue to be offered in Medical Assisting and Dental Assisting. School Director, Angelique Walker, states “we are elated for this opportunity to apply our expertise in adult education to new programs. We provide quality instruction, experienced faculty, and personalized attention to ensure our students have the best tools for success not only while they are in school but after they graduate.”
Ohio Business College is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools and is authorized to grant Occupational Associate degrees in Applied Business by the State Board of Career Colleges and Schools. The Columbus campus is currently enrolling for the summer quarter beginning in June. For more information, visit their website at www.OhioBusinessCollege.edu or call 614-891-5030.
